Ford Releases 2027 Mustang Challenge North America Schedule
Ford Racing has released the 2027 schedule for the Mustang Challenge North America, featuring 12 races held across six different events.
The IMSA-sanctioned one-make series will open the season January 22-24 at Daytona International Speedway as part of the Roar Before the 24 weekend, marking the series' first visit to the Florida circuit. The event precedes the Rolex 24 At Daytona and will put the Mustang Challenge field on the same weekend as the opening event of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The one-make series—which puts drivers behind the wheel of the track-ready Dark Horse R, a car that bridges the gap between a production Dark Horse and a Mustang GT4 race car—will then make stops at Sebring International Raceway, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, VIRginia International Raceway and Circuit of The Americas before closing out the season at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on October 6-9.
Following Laguna Seca, the series will hold until August. This extended break is a "global invitational pause," and it is included in the 2027 schedule for each of our one-make series. It ensures any competitors who want to take part in the 2027 Mustang Challenge Spa Invitational have plenty of time to get their personnel and equipment to Belgium and back without missing any rounds of the championship they compete in full time, Ford Racing representatives said.
